A word from our founder

We need to do more to increase the visibility of female experts, leaders, and speakers.

It dawned on me in 2013 when I was working in politics. The then Prime Minister Tony Abbott appointed just one woman to Cabinet with the explanation at the time, “I’m disappointed there aren’t more women in Cabinet, but there are very strong and capable women knocking on the door”. Thankfully women kept knocking until someone opened the door.

It became even clearer when I started to build relationships with incredible female leaders like Chief Executive of Zoos SA Elaine Bensted and started to imagine a world where their considered leadership and vision were more prominent in our public conversation.

And then it became abundantly clear when leadership expert Tamsin Simounds and I started working with leaders and running workshops together.

We saw female leaders, time and time again, reluctant to ‘put themselves out there’, and we saw just how much potential was being overlooked.

I could go on and on, but ultimately it comes down to this: we need to do more to see more women in visible positions of influence and power. The Visibility Project is my contribution to that effort. We started as a public relations company and have become a talent agency for female experts, leaders, and speakers.
